Maydeen Merino is a graduate student at Georgetown University studying journalism. She received her Bachelors in Journalism at the University of La Verne in Southern California. At La Verne she worked on her school’s newspaper and magazine as a writer, editor, and photographer. Maydeen also was part of the University of La Verne women’s basketball team. Before moving to D.C she was a reporter at The Mountain News, a small community newspaper located in Lake Arrowhead, CA. Maydeen also contributed to publications such as NBClx, Scriberr News, the Women’s Media Center, and the San Dimas Community Post.
