Hi!  I’m a bald but spry 73 year-old with 4 kids, 3 kids-in-law, 6 grandkids, a bicycle and a garden.  As a demographer who studies populations, I’ve lived in Guatemala, Malaysia, and Austria, and worked in many other countries.  Malnutrition, poverty, fertility and women’s and children’s health have been my professional passions.  Here in the D.C. area I’ve worked for years as a volunteer with kids who for one reason or another are under the jurisdiction of the court system.  John, who sold Street Sense for years at the Q St. entrance to Dupont Circle Metro, became a friend when I worked nearby some years back.  He taught me what a terrific organization you all have.  It’s a privilege to be able to help out!
