Athiyah Azeem recently graduated with a journalism degree from the Philip Merrill College of Journalism and has a track record in using journalism to serve marginalized communities, from minorities to immigrants. She covered the shelters and outreach beat for Street Sense Media in the fall of 2020 and was asked to stay on and expand her work. She is a co-founder and contributor to theimmigrantsbay.com and hopes to apply her skills to exposing injustices against the homeless community in D.C.
