Bring back the ban
In 1994, an assault-weapons ban signed by President Bill Clinton outlawed the AR-15. But the law had a lot of loopholes and gun manufacturers circumvented it by modifying the weapons. The ban was written to expire after ten years and was lifted in 2004. Democrats tried to renew it, but there wasn’t much interest in Congress. I think President Trump can do the same but make stronger impact on banning assault-weapons. If you buy an AR-15 for sports, gun stores should ask the buyer for sporting proof. This weapon should not be used for hunting.

Listen to the children!
To plan the murder of innocents in a sacred place is barbaric. (As a teacher, I consider all educational institutions sacred.) Their minds are on their lessons, friends, plans for lunch or what to wear to the party on Saturday night. Not one child is thinking “Someone is going to kill me today.” If they had thought that, I’m sure they would have stayed home.
