After he was benched for being homeless, this high school athlete was offered housing and is cleared to play
Jamal Speaks is a homeless high school football player. He was cleared to play for Ballou at the beginning of this season but was told by the school principal that he was ineligible. Speaks has now been cleared by DCPS, was offered housing by Covenant House Greater Washington, received a football scholarship from Temple University, and has raised more than $32,000 on GoFundMe.
