Who would send a king

To a world full of turmoil and strife?

To a people not worthy to live

But willing to die,

Set in their own ways, and turning God’s word into a lie

Hard-headed, sottish, hateful and despised?

To look down to see his creation

I wonder, did he cry?

Who would send a king

Full of love — He came from above,

Said the angel to the women on earth,

You would bear a son

And you will name him Jesus at birth.

Not revealed to a stranger

But to the shepherds who came to a manger

And saw him first,

Raised in iniquity,

Bruised for our transgressions.

The Father,

The Son,

The Holy Ghost.

God in three persons

Healed the sick, and made the blind see,

Made the lame walk, so all could be free,

Rejected, afflicted, and denied by his own

But he still offered heaven, to be a blessing and your new home.

Sentenced to death by Rome,

On the cross he was not alone

Our burdens he bore

And your sins he washed away.

In the tomb, where he once laid

He rose in three days, just like he said.

I wonder, was it the blood

My savior shed?

For the Bible speaks of the ways that I must be led:

Just believe every word that I have read

And on his name, that is what he said.

For He is coming back again

In a blinking of an eye

And I will be caught up with him

And I won’t have to die,

For He is God Almighty,

The beginning and the end,

The king of kings.

Now you tell me who would

Send a king.
