What’s WITH Mayor Muriel Bowser?

She has been in office for less than three months. She promised to do her best to improve the living conditions and quality of life (of the district’s residents). Her heart is in it, but the opposition is hard to overcome.

The people of DC are not treated as citizens. We have little to no rights, or say as to what we want. She says she wants “to help the homeless.” We only have one family shelter in Washington, D.C., and it is not taking in any new families. There is no money for temporary housing. Now the Mayor’s in the hot seat because the news that people are exposing about the living conditions at the family shelter.
When she took office, there was a surplus for the homeless. Now there are reports that there is a debt of millions of dollars. How did that happen?

On transportation, she wants to improve Metro’s relationship with riders. The safety issue is passive because transportation does not have the money.

The job situation is: if you ask for the proposed pay increase, the businesses want to withdraw.
The health problem is: you have to have an assigned doctor to get a referral to obtain medical help.
Now, Muriel Bowser is popular. She is trying, but she just started.
