The Washington Legal Clinic for the Homeless is moving intake to the Downtown Day Services Center

Washington, D.C., March 21, 2019 — Street Sense Media and The Washington Legal Clinic for the Homeless (WLCH) are excited to announce a development that will bring legal support to a greater number of people experiencing homelessness in Washington, D.C.

WLCH, which has operated weekly legal intake sessions at the Street Sense Media office since January 2018, will move these sessions to the recently opened Downtown Day Services Center. The Center, located just two blocks from Street Sense Media, will provide more space and access to a greater number of people experiencing homelessness.

These intake sessions allow people experiencing or at risk of homelessness to meet one-on-one with WLCH lawyers, who provide free legal representation and referrals on issues like subsidized housing and tenant rights, public benefits and emergency assistance.

The move will be phased in between March 18 and April 22, with WLCH lawyers alternating between Street Sense Media and The Center according to the schedule provided below.

Street Sense Media will continue referring its vendors to WLCH intake sessions at the new location.

Street Sense Media and WLCH look forward to continuing their joint mission to ensure that all Washington, D.C. residents enjoy equal access to housing and public resources.
