The Storm and the Rain

Sometimes I think the Lord washes away ugliness with the rain

The hateful stain they try to put on our hearts

It all sounds the same when the rain falls from the thundercloud

This storm of rain and winds brings people together again

Just a clean thought of helping one another through the storm—

That flood of emotions running through our heads

And how will we rebuild?

The same way we did before, but even better this time

With lessons learned and people purified by the rains

The biggest rain drops you have ever seen

No hate can flow through these raindrops

Or take away that sense of peace after the storm

I see the clouds before the storm

I feel the rain drops falling off my face

I have faith the sun will shine again
