Thanks for the Inspiration!

What I would like to do is give back to where it came from. My name is Marcus Green and St. Stephen’s church is a big pillar of the community at 16th and Newton St NW. I was inspired to try to shed some light on the miracle work they do from feeding the homeless, coat drives, case management, church services etc. Last but not least a friendly smile to go with your meal.

Now they are asking for our help; and they deserve every dime. They have a Jazz and Poetry benefit show coming up on October 22 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $25 and the proceeds benefit St. Stephen’s Loaves and Fished Soup Kitchen – because food is not free. They provide meals every weekend and on federal holidays too.

From the ministry, to the case case management, to the cooks, volunteers, security, and clean-up crew — their blessed work is always there. The benefit will be at the Thurgood Marshall Center, and if you cannot afford the $25 donation, whatever is in your heart will go a long way. Please get involved and make a difference. Thank you and I look forward to seeing you there!
