Christmas sweaters were nearly just as common attire as standard athletic wear during the “Walk and 5K to End HIV.” Whitman-Walker Health held the fundraising event at Freedom Plaza on
Pennsylvania Ave., NW. It was scheduled for October, but pushed back due to bad weather and coincided with World AIDS Day. The all-female percussion band Batala Washington welcomed
participants to the finish line.
