The Boston Globe reports that a state Senate committee in Rhode Island is moving forward with a series of hearings about finding solutions to homelessness.
The Senate Committee on Housing and Municipal Government is scheduled to hold its second hearing on the topic on Thursday at the Statehouse.
Sen. John J. Tassoni, chairman of the committee, has said he wants the state to find long-term solutions that help the homeless sustain themselves, the Globe reports.
Among those expected to testify are the president of the homeless shelter Crossroads Rhode Island, a program director for the Mental Health Association of Rhode Island and the head of United Way, Rhode Island, according to the Globe.
