Perception or Reality: Their game, your intelligence

It appears to be an endless cycle, round and round you go.

Will it stop? Who really knows?

Ball 1, 2, 3, 4 and you get to walk.

Don’t get happy; you were allowed that.

It’s by design!

They don’t want you to hit and run,

especially with others on base.

With partial sight,

you may cause all to make it home and see the light.

Roses are red, violets are blue,

the system really doesn’t give a damn about you.

They promise a mat and then a flat.

But in the end, “Oh, you misunderstood.

I didn’t say that.”

You ask for a dog, they give you a cat.
And say you need it to keep away the rats.

It’s his turn at bat.

Couldn’t pay rent so I bought a tent.

Disappeared, it did.

Nobody knows where it went.

The days are long, yet I remain strong.

Only by trusting and believing in Him

am I able to wake up each day with a smile, again

I do believe things I shall achieve,

for His blessing I daily receive.

Yes, I trust He can open, for me,

a door no man can shut…

and close a door no man can open.

If He clothes the lilies in the valley

and feeds the birds in the air, surely,

He’ll take care of me, His greatest creation.

The battle is already won.

I am victorious.

What about you?
