On December 21st, 2020 events will be held across the country to remember those who lost their lives while being homeless — or because of it — this past year. This is important because most of those who are fortunate tend to overlook the homeless as if we don’t have lives or needs. People are so quick to say or think negative things about us homeless citizens instead of trying to find out how to help us out of our situation. I’ve read in newspapers and magazines about how donations were made to help out the homeless. I’ve even heard these statements on the radio.
So why is it that most of us homeless citizens are not seeing it used on us, but rather their expensive lifestyle? I’m referring to the workers in control of our cases, who I don’t believe are giving us the help we need. What they don’t seem to realize is that the longer they keep us from getting housing or provide the materials we need in these shelters like fresh meals and clothing we need for the seasons, instead of stealing them or withholding them from us, they should be held liable for our deaths.
So says The Lord! Stealing funds, foods, clothing and services and also violating our rights is not only a federal offense, it’s wrong and unjust. So the Homeless Persons Memorial Day will be very important and relevant.
