New Bagel Business to Help Homeless

Home Free Bagels, a new bagel business in Asheville, N.C., plans to hire homeless residents, the Ashville’s Citizen- Times reported. Local eateries have already committed to buying the product. The profits will go to those who are struggling to eat.

Founder Chris Sullivan, who experienced a brief period of homelessness, described the business as a “social enterprise” and said it will fill both a social and culinary gap. Full production is expected to start in March.
