My Time

A photo of a clock

Never a day that I cannot say

I am my own keeper

Mostly pay my own way.

Darkness and daylight

Mainly the same

Unless you have money,

Unless you have fame.

Not insecure,

Not really sad,

I have a place

To put my head.

Don’t think I’m a bum

With nothing much,

Who has no one.

A real life is more

Than the hours on a bill

And still the emptiness

No furniture fills

Sunday in church,

Saturday is me.

Love the times

When I can be free. I know I have some kind of place.

Got to keep on

Keeping on

With life

And its pace.
