Metro Matters, Metro Manners: pt. 5

There are several specific, written, enforceable infractions on the Metrorail/bus. Likewise, there are unwritten rules that are unenforceable: rules that are just common sense, like using your indoor voice while you are … well …

My gripe today is about putting your dirty shoes on the seats. Didn’t anyone tell you to keep your feet on the floor? If they didn’t, I’m telling you now! Think about it. Someone has just had a dark suit or dress dry cleaned and is dressed to kill for an important event. They’ve paid way too much for passage on Metro. Then they have the good fortune to get a seat and their reward? Wearing your boot print! Gee, thanks!
