Me and the mayor’s project

Even before the coronavirus came, my longtime customers and readers have been missing me. For the past nine months, I’ve been living here at the Abrams Hall apartments for veterans on the former Walter Reed campus! And to be honest, things are great here at my older age.

Many thanks to staff from Street Sense for suggesting I look into it. Special thanks to our former case manager, Colleen! And it certainly took a lot more than that to get me in there. But my supporters helped work wonders.

I’ve kept busy writing, and will soon release chapter two of my story “The Big Fat Rat,” which follows the organized crime among the District’s seediest rodents.

I wrote chapter one many years ago and featured it in Street Sense, for those of you who remember it. Dean, the boss, is back! I even illustrated his outfit. I will begin writing the story for the paper every other week.

Stay tuned!

You can read chapter one, which was released in eight episodes throughout 2016, at https://tinyurl.com/BFR-part1.
