Letter to the Editor: I’m Tired of Your Trump-loving Columnist!

Street Sense is a publication about homelessness, poverty and low-income people, at least from what all of us vendors were told when we signed up. The idea sounded fantastic and looked good on paper, but why in the hell do I always feel like I am selling fliers for the White House and President Donald Trump via the Street Sense opinion page? If anyone wanted to get that kind of political news or updates, trust me: They know where to go.

I don’t have anything against the columnist’s views, party or his strong support for President Trump. All I am saying is that the paper should focus more on issues that affect the homeless, the low-income community and those experiencing poverty. Coverage of political issues should be based on a politician looking to end homelessness and poverty.

Again ,this is not a rage about this writer himself. I just find it so astounding and frustrating to the point where I feel like carrying that writer’s material is embarrassing and unacceptable in this part of town.

He wants to play for a team that doesn’t want him. He is fighting against the same policies that have helped him survive while going through poverty.

For those who agree with me, you will get two papers for the price of one if you buy Street Sense from me! You can’t beat that deal. RESIST!
