Let not history
Let not resistance
Let not oppression,
Breathe an ounce, for the respiration of hate.
Just promise, to let it expire;
Naturally, through the ecology of common sense, community and respect for peace.
Let us not let the voices of life
tread into the unfiltered waters, unfit for peaceful survival’s consumption.
Respect yourself and everyone else.
Control your emotions.
Control the seeds of those impulsive irate thoughts with disciplined devotion.
Do not let the power of “because I can,”
Overpower goodwill and wisdom and one’s way.
Ugliness can be contagious and “out of control.”
Amokness, will destroy everything attained and
subjugate you to the horrors born from faulty convenient,
self-ordained thinking of the day.
Keep the fire contained.
Let the peace breathe.
Hesitate, stop and ponder the “because I can,”
For it might not be right!
Unless, of course,
you are like all of us;
a self-contained, intelligent know-it-all.
No one knows everything!
