Getting off the street

I ain’t got no stimulus check. I ain’t got no money. But I got my food stamp card last year, around my birthday in October. And I’m applying for my Medicare card.

I used to stay in a park on 18th Street NW. But now I’m off the street. I live with my aunt in D.C., which has been really good. We had a nice Christmas. My cousin played all that holiday stuff on her TV, Christmas carols and whatnot. I didn’t even know she could get all that music on it.

She gave me a necklace for Christmas, and a ring. I told her I would cherish it. That’s what I’m gonna do.
