On Saturdays and Sundays, people come from all over the metro area to visit Eastern Market. It’s more than just a farmer’s market. It is famous for the variety of vendors selling food, clothing and all kinds of items. You can shop and stay there all day on weekends.

But you have to be careful. Some people come to Eastern Market for the wrong reasons. A man was assaulted getting off the Metro at Eastern Market station. Another woman’s purse was taken

Some people come to Eastern Market for the wrong reasons. A man was assaulted on April 24 while getting off the Metro at Eastern Market station. Another woman’s purse was taken off the chair she was sitting in while eating.

Eastern Market is the place to go on weekends, but always be aware of your surroundings. And when you depart, make sure you have all your belongings. It is so easy to leave things behind.
