Community on the Streets

For those with housing, a community is made up of the people in the buildings nearby. Those living on the streets often seek to minimize involvement with neighbors, preferring to keep a low profile and disappear.

Your community includes those who eat and/or sleep in the same places. Many of these faces change frequently, while others are consistently in the same spot, many times hiding in plain sight.

Some avoid all contact, but that’s necessary to get food and other necessities.

Then there are those who create community by sharing in a most gracious way. Sometimes it is surprising to see the generosity among those who have so little.
