Code Red

It’s ninety degrees at six in the morning

It’s hot outside, it’s bakin’ it’s scorching

The weatherman said it’s gonna be a code red

Told us stay inside, even flowers is dead

The grass turned brown, it used to be green

It’s so hot outside, the ground lettin’ off steam

It’s a hundred degrees at ten in the morning

It’s hot outside it’s baking it’s scorching

My grandma told me, “Boy, you better stay out that heat

“Don’t wanna have a stroke, don’t wanna die on your feet”

She told me, “Drink alotta water. And please don’t overdress.”

Said, “It’s too hot outside to let them work you to death”

It’s a hundred and ten degrees at twelve afternoon

It’s so hot outside, I feel heat in my room.

I just dodged a code red, thank god I ain’t dead

So many people passed out, the heat got me scared

I got some cold water, if you overheated

And I got a couple fans, if you really need it.

My grandma was right, this heat is a monster.

Call 911, ‘cause we need a doctor.

People need A.C., people need air

The forest is burning, so please be aware.

It’s a hundred twenty-five degrees at five p.m.

Even the beaches is closed, ‘cause it’s too hot to swim

You can fry an egg on the ground it’s so hot.

It’s a hundred and thirty degrees at six o’clock

Code red.
