Street Sense Interactive Art Group

Matailong Du

The Street Sense Interactive Art Group assembled in 2015 around the thesis project I Have a Home Here: a mobile, interactive art installation that explores the intersection between the lives of the housed and unhoused. Street Sense artists have retrofitted a school bus to resemble an under-bridge encampment, meant to draw passersby into the exhibit for conversation about homelessness.

The workshop continued to meet regularly and complete projects of varying scale through early 2017.  The group made appearances at:

  • D.C. Figment Interactive Art Festival
  • H Street festival
  • Painting Out Poverty Festival
  • Playa del Fuego Burningman festival in Delaware
  • 2015 Homeless Vigil and Memorial
