Dani joined the staff of Street Sense in August 2016 after volunteering several months with the Street Sense F.A.C.E. advocacy group and completing the Emerson National Hunger Fellowship. As a Fellow they (singular pronoun) worked at the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona and the National Law Center on Homelessness and Poverty creating tools for marginalized communities to advocate with for their right to thrive. Originally from the Washington on the West Coast, Dani graduated from the University of Washington’s Community, Environment and Planning program with honors. As a student they worked for two non-profits focused on state food insecurity and national food policy, while also organizing a volunteer student group as part of the national Real Food Challenge. They are here to help marry art and justice at the grassroots level.
