Housing

~They offer short-term, housing with 24-hour support for 80 families in three locations:

GIRARD STREET APARTMENTS:
~Located in the Columbia Heights neighborhood of Northwest, DC
~They provide apartment-style emergency shelter for 20 homeless families with children.
~Services include: Goal-oriented case management Assistance on finding an affordable apartment, Connection to employment and training, Connection to behavioral health services, Life skills classes on parenting, Children’s activities, Budget and financial management, and Connection to community resources.
HOPE APARTMENTS
~They provide “short-term, transitional housing for families who are also in need of substance abuse services”
~Located in the Congress Heights neighborhood of Southeast, DC
~They provide “apartment-style transitional housing for 10 homeless families with children, where the head of household is in recovery from substance abuse.”
~”Adults attend outpatient substance abuse treatment programs while simultaneously working on finding a job and stable housing.”
~Services include: Goal-oriented case management, Connection to substance abuse services, Assistance on finding an affordable apartment, Connection to employment and training, Connection to behavioral health services, Life skills classes on parenting, and Connection to community resources
~RAPID REHOUSING: They “help families experiencing homelessness exit shelters quickly and move into their own homes with short- to medium-term rental and utility assistance and supportive services.”
~ “Rapid Re-Housing Program provides short-term rental and utility assistance – along with case management – to those families experiencing homelessness.”
~The program serves up to 211 families at any given time.
~Services include: Housing stability focused case management, Assistance on finding an affordable apartment, Connection to employment and training, and Connection to community resources
~PERMANENT HOUSING: “chronically homeless families find and maintain permanent housing through intensive case management, rental assistance and specialized care for children and youth.”
