My Struggles With Life

Jenny Gudmundsen

I celebrate my birthday on Groundhog Day– February second. I was lucky enough to be able to fix up my apartment a bit. I took a lesson from my AA program: you can make your place a hut or a castle. A “home” is not a home until you make it a home. I fixed it up to my liking, with a lot of reds (my favorite color.) I was able to find a new bed and couch, too. God and the Holy Spirit are really working in my life.

My legs hurt, and this cold air doesn’t help, but I’m going to let Him guide me in learning and having fun. I’m going back to school in June, after my hand heals from a recent operation. I’ve been doing well and really want to finish.

My daughter Bernice is still not speaking to me, but I pray and I know inside that I’ve reached out to her the best I can. I no longer feel as guilty. I’m really getting my life on track. Only God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit can work it out–I just have to stop sticking my nose in it!
