Homeless

A man on the streets.

Alexander Staubo

What do you do in the face of something you have no control over?

Let say something extremely negative happened in your life: you lose your job and lose your place of residence and you become homeless.

The first thing to do is take a moment and pray. Ask the Lord for guidance the reason. I say this because some things in life we have no control over. Anyone can become homeless.

What can be done to end homeless? I say better jobs with higher pay. It seems that the cost of living is going up while wages are standing still. That’s a damn shame, because everyone deserves a place to live.

However, be in good courage. It is not the end of world. Ask yourself, how can you deal with being homeless. I am homeless and I see how some  people treat homeless people. That’s because you don’t know homelessness is until it happens to you.

It is not a pleasant thing to see family members homeless.  Like I say, I am homeless and I am doing something to better myself so that I will not become homeless again. One thing I’m doing is going back to school online to better myself.

There was a time that I used to look down on homeless people, until it happened to me. I have learned that it’s not good to look down on anyone. So, next time a homeless person asks if you can buy her or him a cup of coffee or buy them something to eat, please consider that that could be you.
