A woman was shot by a police officer on August 8, after she refused to drop a knife. I understand the police officer was protecting himself, but he could have taken more precautions than he did.
Many men and women are getting shot in the District and most of them are using some type of illicit drugs. This woman turned out to be using synthetic drugs with PCP.
Once the police officer acknowledged the victim was under the influence, he should have approached the situation differently. I just wish the police would handle someone who is discombobulated much better.
